This tree's story
Regarded as ‘Champion’ Wild Service Tree in Britain, predating trees planted when the parkland was laid out in the 1870’s; top damaged by 1987 storm and some branches now missing; superb columnar bole when taped (by Steve Young) in 2007, now appears to be beginning to hollow.
