Grove of yew trees which are growing on the crest of the Downs on each side of the trackway approx 400m from car park entrance.
One tree selected to represent the grove: large branches which reach the ground but are not rooting.Large roots on downslope side which is on the edge of the trackway. Trunk has typical contortions of a yew, Tree female (berries).
The grove has 18 trees of different sizes and ages. 6 have blown over. There are many other small young trees in this area.

Opposite the yew described on the south side of the track is a field maple coppice with 4 trunks, and one dead/broken trunk. Girth 183cm at 150cm. Hole at base of trunk where a separate growth has grown into the main trunk.Bark fissured. Moss fungi and lichen on this tree. Upper branches twisted. Probably part of an old hedge along the track.
