This tree's story

Originally planted in Victorian times (set 1870) in what is now one of the formal gardens, it was dragged as a mature tree by a team of horses into its current location in 1910. It now stands adjacent to the SE lawn of the main house, but has 5 substantial suckers owing to the root disturbance at the time of the move.

Additional comments

Healthy looking and substantial Wellingtonia surrounded by suckers.
Est hgt 20m
Girth measured at approx 6ft from ground owing to substantial root flare (narrowest point); suckers not measured
Pic #2 attached shows route it was dragged from where sundial now stands
